Finikounda is on the southwest part of Messinia, in the Peloponese. The village is built on a most beautiful beach on the route from Methoni to Koroni. The new road from Methoni to Koroni, passes right on te edge of it, offering the visitor a seaside route of unique attraction. Right across the Finikounda bay are the Oinoussae islands, where the deepest part of the Mediterranean Sea is.
